About Mizuho Mimoto, MD, PhD
Mizuho Mimoto, MD, PhD, is a board-certified endocrinologist who treats people with diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis and disorders related to the pituitary, adrenal and parathyroid glands.
As an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Mimoto enjoys teaching endocrinology topics to medical students and supervising residents and fellows during clinical practice.
Dr. Mimoto completed fellowship training in endocrinology at the University of Chicago with a clinical research focus on genetic causes of thyroid hormone dysfunction, and a basic research focus on endocrine disruptors and diabetes. She did her internal medicine residency training at the University of Chicago and earned her medical and PhD degrees from Oregon Health and Science University in Portland. She is board certified in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism as well as internal medicine.
Dr. Mimoto is a member of the American Thyroid Association, the American Diabetes Association and the Endocrine Society.
