About Rebecca Sox, MS, MPH, CPNP

Rebecca Sox, MS, MPH, is a pediatric nurse practitioner with the NICU Follow-Up and Early Development Clinic at UC San Diego Health. She takes patient histories and performs physical, neurological, and development exams and assessments for high-risk children age five months to three years of age, following discharge from the neonatal intensive care unit. She also assists with early intervention referrals and collaborates with the program's social worker.

Before joining UC San Diego Health, Ms. Sox worked at East Cliff Family Health Center in Santa Cruz, Calif. Ms. Sox is also a pediatric nurse practitioner at Rady's Children's Hospital San Diego, and has also worked in community clinics and school-based health centers.

She earned her master's degree in public health in community health education from San Jose State University, her master's degree from Boston College and her bachelor's degree in nursing from San Diego State University.

Ms. Sox is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, and the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.

Outside of work, Ms. Sox enjoys cycling and water sports, including surfing, prone paddleboarding and outrigger canoe paddling. She is conversant in Spanish.
