About Dalia Elias, MBBS
Dalia Elias, MBBS, is an internist who provides primary care for adults, including preventive care and diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic medical conditions. She sees people commonly for conditions such as allergies, headaches, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), bronchitis, asthma, diabetes, hypertension and heart disease.
Her practice emphasizes the prime importance of preventive medicine such as immunizations, cancer screening and healthy living. Dr. Elias is passionate about continually learning the most current evidence-based medicine and providing the best care for her patients. She works hard to compassionately listen and understand each person she sees.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Elias was a physician at a rural community health center in India, where she took care of people of all ages. During this time, she participated in immunization projects, health advocacy campaigns (healthy eating habits and life style modifications) and disease-screening camps in nearby schools and health centers. She has also volunteered at student-run free clinics and at medical camps abroad.
Dr. Elias completed residency training in internal medicine at St. John's Episcopal Hospital in New York. She earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the Academy of Medical Sciences in India.
She is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Heart Association and the Medical Council of India. Outside of work, Dr. Elias enjoys hiking, reading medical fiction books, and spending time with her family.
