About Anna Van Niekerk, DO
Anna Van Niekerk, DO, is a board-certified family medicine doctor dedicated to practicing the full breadth of primary care and caring for patients of all ages, including children, adults, and seniors. She provides preventative care, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions.
Dr. Van Niekerk also sees patients for dermatological concerns and women's health. Her practice includes low-risk prenatal care for pregnant women until the end of their third trimester at which time they will be transferred to obstetrics care for delivery. Her special interests include integrative medicine, osteopathic manipulative medicine and global health. She is LGBTQ-friendly and values providing care for patients from all cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Dr. Van Niekerk completed her residency training in family medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where she was recognized for her exemplary leadership in osteopathic medicine, completed an online course in integrative medicine and was the resident leader in the practice of procedural medicine. She received her doctor of osteopathy degree from the Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pomona, Calif.
She is a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Board of Family Medicine, the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine, and the American Osteopathic Association.
When not at work, Dr. Van Niekerk enjoys biking, swimming, surfing and spending time at the beach. She is also interested in minimal impact, sustainable living and farming. In addition to English, Dr. Van Niekerk speaks Spanish and Afrikaans.
