Adnan Khan, MBBS, is a board-certified nephrologist who specializes in all aspects of kidney and pancreas transplantation. He also has expertise in treating patients with complex cases of hypertension.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Khan was a nephrologist and medical director of the Hypertension Clinic at Truman Medical Center, in Kansas City. He also was an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine.
Dr. Khan completed fellowships in transplant nephrology at Stanford University School of Medicine and in nephrology at LA County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. He did a residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at St. Louis University School of Medicine, where he was also the chief resident.
He earned his medical degree (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) from Deccan College of Medical Sciences in India. Dr. Khan is board certified in nephrology and internal medicine.
Dr. Khan is a member of the American Society of Nephrology, National Kidney Foundation and American Society of Transplantation. He is also a fellow of the American Society of Nephrology (FASN) and the National Kidney Foundation (FNKF).
When not working, he enjoys traveling and learning about new cultures as well as spending time with his children. In addition to English, he speaks Hindi and Urdu.
