About Gabriel Léger, MD
Gabriel Léger, MD, is a board-certified neurologist who specializes in Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. He has expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of atypical or focal dementias, including frontotemporal dementia (FTD), primary progressive aphasia, posterior cortical atrophy, and dementia with Lewy bodies including Parkinson's disease dementia.
He is working to expand patient care by developing a new multidisciplinary memory disorders clinic at UC San Diego Health. Previously, Dr. Léger served as director of the Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry Fellowship Program at the Cleveland Clinic. Prior to that, he was an assistant professor at the University of Montréal Faculty of Medicine.
In addition, Dr. Léger directs clinical trials in Alzheimer's disease and related disorders.
Dr. Léger completed fellowships in cognitive behavioral neurology at Northwestern University and movement disorders at McGill University in Canada, where he also completed a residency in neurology at the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital. Dr. Léger earned his medical degree from McGill University. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC).
His work has been published widely in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Léger is a member of many professional associations, including the American Academy of Neurology, American Neuropsychiatric Association, International Neuropsychological Society, and International Society to Advance Alzheimer's Research and Treatment.
