About Tamantha Arlata, MD
Tamantha (Tami) Arlata, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician who treats infants, children and adolescents with a focus on their growth and overall well-being. She enjoys working in teams with specialists to aid those with special needs/developmental delays and chronic illnesses. She has a large interest in newborn medicine and enjoys being able to guide parents in this transition. She believes that preventative care is paramount to setting children up for a healthy life and establishing good lifelong habits.
Dr. Arlata identifies and treats most common childhood illnesses and has worked in the pediatric urgent care setting. She enjoys performing office procedures such as splinting, suturing, and foreign body removals. She loves being able to provide not only well-child care, but also being there for kids during the hardest times of sickness or injury.
Before joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Arlata was an assistant professor in the Division of Pediatric Urgent Care at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. During this time, she taught students and residents in both classroom and clinic settings.
Dr. Arlata completed her pediatric residency training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She earned her medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
In her free time, Dr. Arlata enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, son and pet dog. She believes in maintaining a well-balanced lifestyle while being able to provide care to her patients when it is needed the most.
