About Amruti Borad, DO

Amruti Borad, DO, is a board-certified family medicine doctor who provides primary care services, with a special interest in the management of chronic diseases, especially diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, and fatty liver. She also provides women's preventative health care services, pediatric care, with a focus on preventative health, healthy lifestyle, sports injuries, and complex care coordination, providing guidance for mental health disorders, performing a variety of in-office procedures, and treatment of chronic musculoskeletal conditions with osteopathic manipulative treatments.

She treats patients through the concierge medicine program at UC San Diego Health. Concierge medicine is a primary care option that requires an annual membership fee and offers enhanced services, extended amenities and 24/7 access.

Dr. Borad finds it rewarding being able to connect and spend time with her patients and their families, finding what brings her patients a sense of purpose, and partnering with them to not only treat but also prevent disease.

Prior to transitioning to concierge medicine, she had the privilege of providing primary care services for all ages at UC San Diego Health's Rancho Bernardo location, and had the opportunity to serve as a clinical medical director, department wellness director and department COVID-19 lead physician. Her leadership roles allowed her to develop the skills to make positive changes on a larger scale within the health care system, empower health care professionals and discover that everything comes down to meaningful relationships.

Dr. Borad completed a residency in family medicine at UCLA and earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific at the Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, Calif. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

In her free time, Dr. Borad enjoys playing the piano, songwriting, meditating, training to be a life coach, reading non-fiction, having great meals and conversation with close friends, playing with her loving golden retriever and golden doodle, and attending concerts and travelling throughout the United States with her husband.

My main issue is that access to specialists is very slow because the UCSD medical system is overloaded. This is not surprising as it is happening everywhere. Hopefully the concierge service will help, particularly in finding alternatives outside UCSD.
