About Laura Aughinbaugh, DNP, WHNP, CNM

Laura Aughinbaugh, DNP, is a certified midwife (CNM) and women's health nurse practitioner (WHNP) who cares for women with disorders associated with pelvic floor dysfunction, including nonsurgical treatments for pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence and recurrent urinary tract infections.

Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Ms. Aughinbaugh worked as an assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. She has over sixteen years of nursing experience providing care to patients and their families in clinic, hospital and community settings.

Ms. Aughinbaugh obtained her doctorate degree in nursing practice from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Ky., where she also earned her master's degree in nursing. She earned her bachelor's in nursing at San Diego State University.

She is a member of the California Association of Nurse Practitioners, the American College of Nurse Midwives, and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Outside of work, Ms. Aughinbaugh enjoys cooking, hiking, making donuts, travel, military veteran outreach/support and spending time with her children.
