About Frederick Han, MD

Frederick (Fred) Han, MD, is board-certified cardiologist who subspecializes in cardiac electrophysiology. He takes care of patients with all types of fast (tachycardia), slow (bradycardia), and irregular heart rhythm disorders, including both atrial and ventricular arrhythmias.

Dr. Han strives to provide excellent care to his patients by providing open communication and individualized treatment. He makes every effort to provide evidence-based care while also striving to ensure patient satisfaction.

He has a strong interest in both medical and procedural management of atrial fibrillation (Afib or AF), atrial flutter (AFL), supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), premature ventricular contractions (PVCs), ventricular tachycardia (VT), ventricular fibrillation (VF), and syncope. He is skilled at catheter ablation for arrhythmia treatment, including the more common arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, premature ventricular contractions, ventricular tachycardia and supraventricular tachycardia.

Dr. Han treats all types of supraventricular tachycardias, including common variants such as atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT), atrioventricular reentrant tachycardia (AVRT), Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome, atrial tachycardia (AT), and the rare variants such as junctional tachycardia, atriofascicular tachycardia (Mahaim pathways) and nodofascicular and nodoventricular tachycardias.

He is also an expert in specific heart rhythm syndromes including long QT syndrome, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HOCM or HCM), Brugada syndrome, arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia / cardiomyopathy (ARVD or ARVC), as well as arrhythmias related to coronary artery disease (CAD), congenital heart disease and cardiac sarcoidosis.

Dr. Han completed fellowships in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at UC San Francisco and in cardiovascular disease at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. He did an internal medicine residency at Georgetown University Hospital and earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He is board certified in clinical cardiac electrophysiology and cardiovascular disease.
