About Amy Trewella, MD
Amy Trewella, MD, is a board-certified physician providing primary care in Poway. She is a member of the UC San Diego Health Physician Network.
UC San Diego Health Physician Network is an alliance of health care providers based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Members of the network collaborate on developing shared systems, infrastructure and quality initiatives to provide high-value health care in the region.
As family medicine doctor, Dr. Trewella provides preventive care and treatment of acute and chronic diseases and injuries for people of all ages. She enjoys seeing families and multiple generations in her practice and has a special interest in taking care of veterans, women's health, and helping families affected by autism spectrum disorder.
She earned her medical degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 2005 with a scholarship from the U.S. Navy, and completed both her internship and residency at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Pensacola, Florida. She continued to serve in the Navy for a total of 7 years, stationed in Florida, Bahrain, and Hawaii, before returning to San Diego. Dr. Trewella is board certified in family medicine.
