About Jamie Labuzetta, MD
Jamie Labuzetta, MD, is a board-certified neurologist and neurocritical care specialist who treats patients with acute neurological emergencies requiring intensive care. These patients may have severe brain injury, stroke or brain tumors, or are recovering from a neurosurgical procedure.
As an assistant professor in the Department of Neurosciences at UC San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Labuzetta trains medical students, residents and fellows. She also serves as director of neurocritical care research. Her own research interests include post-intensive care syndrome, delirium, and neuroethics. She also has authored articles and books on ethics and decision making.
Dr. Labuzetta completed a fellowship in neurocritical care at UC San Diego School of Medicine. Her residency was with the Harvard Brigham and Women's Hospital-Massachusetts General Hospital Neurology Residency Program in Boston. She earned her medical degree at UC San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Labuzetta is board certified in neurology and holds subspecialty certification in neurocritical care from the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties.
Dr. Labuzetta is a member of the Neurocritical Care Society, the Society for Critical Care Medicine, San Diego Neurosciences Society and the International Society for Neuroethics.
In her free time, Dr. Labuzetta enjoys spending time with family, traveling and reading non-medical books.
