About Michael Pietila, MD
Michael Pietila, MD, is a board-certified physician providing primary care through Tri-City Primary Care. He is a member of UC San Diego Health Physician Network.
UC San Diego Health Physician Network is an alliance of health care providers based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Members of the network collaborate on developing shared systems, infrastructure and quality initiatives to provide high-value health care in the region.
As a family medicine physician, Dr. Pietila provides preventive care and treatment of acute and chronic diseases and injuries for people of all ages. He is highly experienced in geriatric care, and brings his expertise to his patients he visits in nursing homes and to those needing hospice care.
A committed volunteer, Dr. Pietila is proud to be a part of Medical Ministry International, and travels to Mexico, Ecuador, and Honduras to provide medical services. He also participates in Reaching the Hungry in Mexico, and volunteers at Bread of Life Homeless Shelter and Soup Kitchen.
Dr. Pietila earned his medical degree from Loyola University of Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, AZ and is board certified in family medicine.
