About Alexander Bullen, MD
Alexander Bullen, MD, is a board-certified nephrologist who treats people with acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease and end-stage kidney disease.
As an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine, Dr. Bullen trains medical students, interns and residents at UC San Diego School of Medicine. He also conducts research related to kidney disease.
He completed a fellowship in nephrology at UC San Diego School of Medicine and did his residency in internal medicine at University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Bullen earned his medical degree from the University of Panama and obtained a master's degree in clinical research from UC San Diego. He is board certified in nephrology and internal medicine.
Dr. Bullen is a member of the American Society of Nephrology, American College of Physicians and American Medical Association.
In his spare time, he enjoys running, spending time with family, and traveling. He is also a fan of soccer and classical music, especially attending San Diego Symphony performances. Dr. Bullen speaks fluent Spanish.
