About Rachel Goodwin, MSN, CNM

Rachel Goodwin, MSN, is a certified nurse-midwife who provides family-centered maternity care, along with well-woman care, family planning and other services. She delivers babies in our holistic, in-hospital birth center or in our traditional labor and delivery environment, depending on the desires and needs of her patients.

Before joining UC San Diego Health in 2017, Ms. Goodwin practiced midwifery at North County Health Services and Palomar Medical Center. She also worked as a registered nurse at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns.

She earned her Master of Science in nursing with a specialization in midwifery and women's health care from San Diego State University, where she also completed a Bachelor of Science in nursing. Ms. Goodwin speaks Spanish fluently.
