About Stephanie Yoakum, MSN, ACNP-CS
Stephanie Yoakum, MSN, is a certified acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP-CS) who manages patients with irregular heartbeat (cardiac arrhythmia) and cardiac devices in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. She evaluates patients following their procedure, including assessment of medications, symptoms and appropriate diagnostic tests.
Ms. Yoakum has over 18 years' experience caring for patients as a nurse practitioner. She also teaches students in the adult-gerontology nurse practitioner program at San Diego State University School of Nursing and as a faculty member at the University of Phoenix.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health in 2018, Ms. Yoakum was a cardiac electrophysiology nurse practitioner at the VA Medical Center San Diego. She earned her Master of Science in nursing from University of California, Los Angeles and her bachelor's degree in nursing from Mount Saint Mary's College in Los Angeles. Ms. Yoakum is a member of the California Association for Nurse Practitioners.
When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and dog, running and staying active, reading, watching movies and attending sporting events.
