Katherine Uvelli, MD, is a board-certified family medicine doctor dedicated to practicing the full breadth of primary care and caring for patients of all ages, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. She provides preventative care, as well as the diagnosis of acute and chronic diseases.
Dr. Uvelli's goal is to help people live healthy and fulfilling lives. She believes in the importance of educating patients about their health and aims to incorporate their values to their care. She has a special interest in obesity medicine.
Dr. Uvelli completed her residency in family medicine at University of Washington Valley Medical Center and an internship in surgery at University of Cambridge in England. She earned her medical degree from Imperial College London School of Medicine in England.
Dr. Uvelli lived in the United Kingdom for seven years where she worked in health policy. She comes to UC San Diego Health from San Diego Sports Medicine. She is a member of the Obesity Medicine Association and is board certified in family medicine.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Uvelli was a competitive swimmer and water polo player, and now is a passionate long-distance runner. She speaks French proficiently.
