About Christopher R. Booth, PsyD

Christopher Booth, PsyD, is a licensed psychologist who sees people with obsessive compulsive disorders (OCD) and OCD-related disorders, including hoarding disorder, body dysmorphic disorder, hair pulling, skin picking and tic disorders.

Dr. Booth also treats people with anxiety disorders, depression and mood disorders. In addition, he has expertise in helping people cope with medical conditions that may affect mental health and happiness.

He uses evidence-based treatment approaches, primarily cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure-and-response prevention. He also frequently employs aspects of acceptance and commitment therapy and dialectal behavioral therapy (DBT).

Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Booth worked at several medical facilities, dedicated to helping people with both medical and mental health issues.

He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in at Children's Hospital of Orange County, which is affiliated with UC Irvine School of Medicine. He earned a doctor of psychology at University of La Verne. Dr. Booth is a member of the American Psychological Association.

Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, going to the beach, spending time with family and delicious burritos.
