About Colleen McNally, MD
Colleen McNally, MD, is a board-certified OB/GYN who provides expert prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum care, as well as comprehensive gynecological care.
She also provides preventative health care, menopausal treatment and is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding, including alternatives to hysterectomy.
Dr. McNally has been in private practice since 1992 and is among San Diego's most sought after OB/GYNs, repeatedly named a "Top Doctor" in the annual San Diego Magazine's "Physicians of Exceptional Excellence" survey.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health in 2019, she practiced at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns and was its chief medical officer. Reflecting her passion and commitment to the health of women and newborns, she served as its medical staff leader, was chair of the hospital's bioethics program and received multiple Guardian Angel recognitions from grateful patients and families.
Dr. McNally completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Chicago Lying-in Hospital (University of Chicago) and earned her medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School.
She is a member of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology and San Diego County Medical Society. She is also a member of the California Medical Association and was a delegate to this association for nearly a decade.
Outside of her full-time clinical practice, she enjoys community volunteer work and yoga, and has served on the boards of several foundations and philanthropic organizations. She is married with three adult children.
