Kevin McGehrin, MD, is a palliative care physician and board-certified neurologist who provides expert care for patients with a variety of neurological conditions, including Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease.
As a palliative care physician, he has a passion for improving the quality of life for people with life-limiting and progressive diseases, such as cancer, advanced organ failure and neurological diseases. His practice emphasizes whole-person care, providing pain and symptom management, as well as psychosocial and spiritual support. He also provides guidance on advance care planning, goals of care and transitions in care, including referral to hospice services.
Dr. McGehrin completed a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine. He completed a residency in neurology also at UC San Diego, where he served as neurology chief resident. He earned his medical degree at University of Maryland School of Medicine.
He is a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine and the American Academy of Neurology.
Outside of work, he enjoys soccer, snowboarding, LGBTQ health advocacy and medical education.
