About Joshua Rubin, MD
Joshua Rubin, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist who treats diseases of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon and rectum, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts and liver. He specializes in colon cancer prevention, Helicobacter pylori infection (H. pylori) and eosinophilic conditions of the gastrointestinal tract (eosinophils are white blood cells that can cause inflammation). This includes eosinophilic esophagitis and eosinophilic gastroenteritis.
As an assistant professor in the Department of Medicine, Dr. Rubin instructs medical students, residents and fellows. His research focuses on H. pylori.
Dr. Rubin completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at UC San Diego School of Medicine and a residency in internal medicine at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He earned his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville. He is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine.
Dr. Rubin is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, their two dogs and cat, playing basketball, surfing, camping, hiking and traveling.
