About Michael Taddonio, MD
Michael Taddonio, MD, is an interventional radiologist who specializes in image-guided, minimally invasive procedures to treat portal hypertension (i.e. an increase in the blood pressure within the portal vein), as well as benign and malignant bone tumors.
He is director of the Heredity Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT) Clinic providing treatment for HHT - a genetic disorder that causes malformed blood vessels and pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVM).
Dr. Taddonio also performs prostate artery embolization for benign prostatic hyperplasia. His recent research has examined techniques for improving urography. He has also investigated characterizing intramuscular calf vein thrombosis with knee MRI.
Dr. Taddonio completed a fellowship in interventional radiology and residency in radiology at UC San Diego School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago.
He is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology and the San Diego Radiology Society.
Outside of work, Dr. Taddonio enjoys golf, skiing and trivia.
