About Chelsey Forbess Smith, MD
Chelsey Smith, MD, is a board-certified rheumatologist who treats patients with rheumatic diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and other conditions.
Her research focus includes studying women with autoimmune disease in pregnancy and the effects on children born to mothers who take immune-modulating medications. Her work has appeared in several research-related journals.
Dr. Smith completed a fellowship in rheumatology at UC San Diego School of Medicine and a residency in internal medicine at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. She earned her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and she is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology.
Outside of work, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with her daughter and mini Goldendoodle. She is also a classically-trained singer.
