Shannon Leung Kim, MD, MPH

Shannon Leung Kim, MD, MPH, is board-certified pediatrician who provides primary care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults up to age 21.
Dr. Kim's research interests include improving communication between health care providers, patients, and families surrounding breastfeeding medicine and care transition.
As a pediatrician at an academic center, she also instructs medical students and residents. She has won awards recognizing her clinical and teaching excellence, including the Pediatric Primary Care Award from the New England Quality Care Alliance.
Dr. Kim completed a fellowship in academic general pediatrics at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, S.C., where she also earned her master's degree in public health. She completed her residency training in pediatrics at the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Kim earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Ga.
She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Academic Pediatric Association and Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine.
In her free time, she enjoys exploring San Diego.
