About Kelley Becherer, PT, DPT, OCS
Kelley Becherer, DPT, is a licensed physical therapist and board-certified orthopedic specialist with a passion for treating all levels of athletes from acute injury onset to return to sport using evidence-based research. She believes in active based therapy with an emphasis on functional ability to reach the patients individuals goals and highest potential.
In addition to her practice at UC San Diego Health, she currently consults and works with the Paralympic swim team and has done a rotation with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
Before joining UC San Diego Health, Becherer was director of a clinic for a private practice that specialized in active based rehabilitation.
Becherer received her doctorate in physical therapy from Northeastern University in Boston, where she was a collegiate Division I swimmer and Paralympic gold medalist. This background has fostered a love for swimming rehabilitation. She still enjoys swimming, hiking, and staying active, as well as traveling.
