About Haewon Lee, MD
Haewon Lee, MD, is a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician who specializes in treating spine disorders, and nonsurgical treatment for neck and back pain. Her practice focuses on helping people return to the activities they enjoy and improving their quality of life. She has a special interest in treating patients with cancer-related impairments.
Dr. Lee performs a variety of advanced ablation procedures and nerve blocks, as well as epidural steroid injections, to address back pain and loss of function. She also offers diagnostic nerve blocks and injections to better identify the source of a patient's back issue.
Beyond spine health, she evaluates and treats many other joint and musculoskeletal conditions, including injuries and conditions of the shoulder, hip, knee, elbow and sacroiliac joint. She also performs electro-diagnostic studies to assess peripheral nerve disorders.
Dr. Lee completed a fellowship in interventional spine and musculoskeletal medicine at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she also completed residency training and was chief resident. She earned her medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Lee is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
She participates on the North American Spine Society's research committee and serves on the Spine Intervention Society's patient safety committee. Dr. Lee is a member of the American Association of Academic Physiatrists.
She has been a volunteer physician at the Philadelphia and New York City marathons. In her free time, Dr. Lee enjoys running on the beach, hiking, yoga, and traveling.
