About Diana Childers, MD, FHM

Diana Childers, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician who specializes in caring for hospitalized patients. As a hospitalist, Dr. Childers is assigned to patients at the time of admission and provides care only during their hospital stay. She does not see patients at outpatient clinics and is not available for appointments.

As an associate professor in the Department of Medicine, she instructs medical students and residents in hospital medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine.

Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Dr. Childers was a hospitalist at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She has also cared for patients at the Veterans Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Agana Heights, Guam.

Dr. Childers completed her internal medicine residency at UC Irvine School of Medicine and her internal medicine internship at University of Texas Health San Antonio. She earned her medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago.

Dr. Childers is a fellow of the Society of Hospital Medicine (FHM) and board certified in internal medicine.

In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors, painting and spending time with her family.
