About Amanda Fillmore, OTR/L
Amanda Fillmore, OTR/L, is a registered and licensed occupational therapist who enjoys working with patients who have decreased ability to complete the things they want and need to do because of hand and upper extremity dysfunction from acute injury, repetitive strain or degenerative disorders.
She appreciates the importance of functioning hands for utility and recreation, and believes that engagement in activity can best support improvement in hand function.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, Fillmore's experience in sleep medicine allowed her to address issues of pain and restful sleep to facilitate the healing process.
She is certified in application of physical agent modalities, and has been an invited instructor on the topic for a local occupational therapy program.
She has also earned advanced practice certification in hand therapy from the California Board of Occupational Therapy.
Ms. Fillmore obtained a master's degree in occupational therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. She completed a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Illinois.
Ms. Fillmore enjoys multiple hobbies, such as gardening, ceramics, cooking and beadwork.
