About Amanda Fillmore, OTR/L, CHT
Amanda Fillmore is a registered and licensed occupational therapist (OTR/L) and certified hand specialist (CHT) with a specialty certification in physical agent modalities (PAMs). She works as a lead outpatient therapist at UC San Diego Health outpatient rehabilitation in Hillcrest, where she enjoys the challenge of complex orthopedic injuries, including wound care, post-surgical treatment for reparative and reconstructive procedures, burn injury and fractures.
Amanda enjoys educating patients on acute and chronic conditions to facilitate understanding and adaptation that allows for more full participation in enjoyed and/or necessary life activities.
In addition to her role at UC San Diego Health, she serves as an itinerant instructor for the Grossmont Occupational Therapy Assistant program, where she enjoys educating the new generation of therapists.
Ms. Fillmore obtained a master's degree in occupational therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. She completed a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in sociology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Additionally, she has a background in sleep medicine and is a certified registered polysomnographic technologist (RPSGT) which informs her current practice as an occupational therapist to the extent that sleep is impacted by upper extremity disorder.
Amanda stays busy in her free time with multiple hobbies including hiking, reading, ceramics and gardening.
