About Ashley Malooly, PhD
Ashley Malooly, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist who provides care for older adults with mental health problems including depression, bipolar, anxiety disorders, and other psychiatric disorders. She has experience in inpatient and outpatient settings and specialized training in exposure-based therapies for anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).
Dr. Malooly is program director of the Senior Behavioral Health Intensive Outpatient Program, which treats sub-acute psychiatric problems in older adults and provides transitional care for those who have been hospitalized for psychiatric reasons.
Prior to joining UC San Diego Health, she supervised psychology practicum students, interns and post-doctoral psychological assistants at Sharp McDonald Center's Residential/Partial Hospitalization programs. She also provided care as a clinical psychologist at Sharp Mesa Hospital's Intensive Outpatient programs.
Dr. Malooly earned her PhD and master's degree in clinical psychology at University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. She completed her bachelor's degree in psychology at University of Delaware in Newark.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, cooking, yoga and meditation.
