About Angela Wang, MD
Angela Wang, MD, is a board-certified pulmonary disease specialist who treats a variety of acute and chronic lung diseases including bronchiectasis, and other airway diseases. These include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, interstitial lung diseases, pulmonary infections, primary and metastatic lung cancer, and systemic diseases that affect the respiratory system. She is also able to treat patients with co-morbid conditions such as heart failure and other chronic medical conditions.
Dr. Wang believes in a holistic patient-centered approach that focuses on traditional Western medical treatments while incorporating integrative elements such as mindfulness, nutrition and yoga.
She has over 30 years of experience practicing medicine. Most recently, she served as a physician in the division of pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine at Scripps Clinic before joining UC San Diego Health.
Dr. Wang completed a fellowship in critical care medicine at UC San Francisco School of Medicine and a residency in internal medicine at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago. She earned her medical degree from University of Hawaii School of Medicine.
She is a member of the American Thoracic Society and a member and former president of the California Thoracic Society.
Outside of work, Dr. Wang enjoys classical music, ballet and piano. She speaks conversational Mandarin.
