About Sagar Shah, MD

Sagar Shah, MD, is a board-certified physician providing primary care through the North Coast Family Medical Group. He is a member of the UC San Diego Health Physician Network.

UC San Diego Health Physician Network is an alliance of health care providers based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Members of the network collaborate on developing shared systems, infrastructure and quality initiatives to provide high-value health care in the region.

As a family medicine physician, Dr. Shah provides preventive care and treatment of acute and chronic diseases for people of all ages. He believes in supporting a patient's capacity to heal through lifestyle medicine approaches in addition to conventional care. To Dr. Shah, this can be achieved by utilizing extensive dietary counseling, manual manipulation and other techniques, such as hypnosis, to help support patients' well-being. His clinical approach involves three key elements: starting with what matters most to the patient, ensuring shared decision making and providing extensive patient education during the visit.

Dr. Shah completed his residency in family and community medicine at the University of Wisconsin and earned his medical degree at Thomas Jefferson University Medical College. He is board certified in family medicine.

Outside of work, Dr. Shah enjoys cycling, rooting for Chicago sports teams, cooking and exploring new cuisines, and spending time with his growing family.
