About Jennifer Black, MD
Jennifer Black, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician providing primary care through Perlman Clinic, an independent practice with clinic offices throughout San Diego. She is a member of the UC San Diego Health Physician Network.
UC San Diego Health Physician Network is an alliance of health care providers based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Members of the network collaborate on developing shared systems, infrastructure and quality initiatives to provide high-value health care in the region.
As an internal medicine physician, Dr. Black takes care of the primary care needs of people 18 and older, and has special interests in nutrition, weight loss, functional medicine and integrative medicine. She enjoys learning about her patients, their families and how their lifestyle shapes their overall health.
Dr. Black completed her residency in internal medicine and earned her medical degree at University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health.
Dr. Black is board certified in obesity medicine and internal medicine. She is a member of the American Society for Nutrition.
Outside of work, she homeschools her daughter with autism spectrum disorder, is involved in the special education community and leads a fulfilling life raising her family in Encinitas.
