James J. Sotis, MD

James J. Sotis, MD, is a board-certified physician providing primary care through the Rancho Family Medical Group. He is a member of UC San Diego Health Physician Network.

UC San Diego Health Physician Network is an alliance of health care providers based in San Diego, Riverside and Imperial counties. Members of the network collaborate on developing shared systems, infrastructure and quality initiatives to provide high-value health care in the region.

As a primary care physician, Dr. Sotis provides preventive care and treatment of acute and chronic diseases and injuries for people of all ages. He has learned over the years as a physician, even if he cannot cure, he can always offer support and comfort to a patient. Practicing family medicine gives him the opportunity to put this into action with people across the entire spectrum of life. It also provides him with the chance to care for the person as a whole—mind, body and soul.

Dr. Sotis completed his residency in family medicine at the University of Minnesota North Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program and earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He is board certified in family medicine.

Dr. Sotis' passion for health extends beyond the doors of the clinic, as he's constantly encouraging his patients and his family to engage in healthy activities and achieve attainable, consistent goals. He enjoys surfing with his three sons and running with his wife.
